Pedicab driver shot dead in Talisay City

A 46-year-old pedicab driver succumbed to death after he was shot several times by an unidentified person in Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City, Cebu on Friday evening.

The victim was identified as Teresito Gica Deiparene, a native of Barangay Simala, Sibonga town, Cebu, who sustained four gunshot wounds in his body.

Based on an initial police investigation, the victim was about to sleep in his shanty when the assailant suddenly fired shots at him.

Deipairene was immediately brought to Talisay District Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

Superintendent Marlu Conag, Talisay City police chief, said that they are still determining the motive behind the killing of the victim and the identity of the perpetrator.
