DANCE duo Julius Obero and Rhea Marquez are now closer to winning after they got a spot in the grand finals of ABS-CBN’s talent show competition “Pilipinas Got Talent” (PGT) Season 6.
Obero and Marquez got the nod of PGT Season 6 judges Angel Locsin, Vice Ganda, and Robin Padilla for them to proceed to the competition’s final round.
Both touched the hearts of the audience and judges after they performed Andra Day’s “Rise Up” during the last weekend’s episode. What makes their performance special is Marquez dances with Obero, who is wheelchair-bound.
“Sa bawat pagkilos ninyo, napupuno kami ng inspirasyon. ‘Yung ginawa niyong choreography, napaka-ganda. Napaka-ganda ng give and take niyo diyan. Nagyayakapan kayo, naglilipat kayo at nag tra-transmit ng lakas. Napaka romantic, napakagaling niyo. World class,” Padilla said.
He also congratulated Obero and Marquez for taking three medals for the Freestyle and Combo Latin categories at a dance sport competition held in The Netherlands.
“Ako’y sarap na sarap kapag tinatalo ang mga dayuhan sa kanilang lugar. Ikaw (Julius), kapatid ang simbolo ng lakas at tapang ng mga Pilipino. Ang binibini, ang simbolo ng pagmamahal at hudyat ng isang Pilipina,” Padilla added.
Vice Ganda thanked the dancing duo for sharing their talent.
“Wala akong nakikitang mali. Maaring merong makitang kapansanan sa isa sa inyo, pero walang kakulangan. Sobra pa nga at nag-uumapaw. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong dalawa. Your talent is your gift. The moment you share that talent to us and use that to inspire us, your gift becomes a blessing,” the comedian said.
He also said that other PGT Season 6 grand finalists should do their best to defeat Obero and Marquez.
“Pag hindi kayo binoto ng mga tao at hindi pumasok sa grand finals, may mali na talaga sa pagiisip ng mga Pilipino,” Vice Ganda said.
Locsin who pressed the Golden Buzzer for the duo during the live auditions, thereby earning them an automatic spot in the semi-finals, expressed how she liked Obero and Marquez.
“A lot of us do not have a talent for dancing even with complete limbs. There’s Julius na can’t even walk but still managed to dance gracefully na hindi mo mapigilan maging emotional panoorin,” the actress said.
The dance duo is the 8th grand finalist for this season.
Marquez is a Cebuana whose mother is from San Isidro, Talisay City while Obero is from Ormoc City.
The PGT grand finals will be held on April 28 at the Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
