The promotion of the Light Railway Transit (LRT) project by Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Dino during the commemoration of the 497th celebration of the Kadaugan sa Mactan on April 27 at Mactan Shrine, Lapu-Lapu City, drew adverse reactions from some netizens.
Salvador Boie Sano Contreras wrote, “Good When? After we have a new president? Even the drawing for the LRT has not been made, how much more funding? Can you get this at the click of your finger? If so lets begin the LRt now or tomorrow to be sure!”
A netizen named Domingo Arong commented, “Dino wants Cebuanos to support a proposal that has not been made public; a claimed LRT proposal that has remained undisclosed to this day. He should publicize details of his proposal to allow Cebuanos the opportunity to study it and compare it with the already approved BRT.”
While Al Mateo Polancos said, “You haven’t made a full feasibility study on the LRT. And yet you are trying to push it? The BRT has gone extensive reviews for a long time. So don’t try to fast track something that hasn’t been fully studied without understanding the impact if your LRT will take into effect.”
