Fair and square: Mandaue, Carcar to play one home game each in c’ship round

MANDAUE and Carcar, the finalists in this year’s Governor’s Cup Inter-Cities/Municipalities Volleyball Tournament, will have one home game each in the best-of-three championship series that starts on Monday.

The City of Carcar, around 40 kilometers from Cebu City, hosts Game 1 at the Carcar City Complex. Game 2, meanwhile, will be played at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex on May 30.

If the series goes to a deciding Game 3, it will be held at a neutral court, which will be the University of San Carlos gym in Cebu City on June 1.

Carcar emerged champion in the South Division last Sunday after defeating Argao, 25-21, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22, in Game 3.

Mandaue, on the other hand, defeated Catmon on Monday evening, 25-23, 25-16, 26-24, to win the best-of-three series, 2-1.

Both Carcar City and Mandaue City had perfect 5-0 (win-loss) records during the elimination rounds. They also had the same 5-0 cards in the quarterfinals.
