Mayor Tomas Osmeña directed new Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Chief Senior Supt. Royina Garma to solve even the pettiest crimes.
The new lady police chief receives the directive after she paid a courtesy visit to the mayor on Friday morning. this is the first time that Garma and Osmeña met since she assumed office on Monday, July 2.
In an interview with reporters, Garma said that the mayor requested for more police visibility in the city.
Garma earlier committed that 180 uniformed police will be mobilized starting tomorrow.
“He doesn’t care kung mataas yung crime rate so long as pinaka-simpleng crimes or infractions, he wants the police to respond,” said Garma.
Garma added that the mayor also wants the police to deter the cases on vandalism in the city.
Last month, the mayor also ordered the ban of the sale of aerosol sprays to minimize the presence of graffiti on the walls of establishments in the city./ With USJR Intern Delta Letigio
