The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) advised the public take note of the new traffic scheme in N. Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City to avoid clogging the alternate routes.
CCTO Chief Francisco Ouano said that the traffic gridlock observed on Saturday was due to the lack of information of motorists as to the alternate routes that they can take to and from Cebu City.
Ouano said that most vehicles clogged at the areas of Punta Princesa and Tagunol Street.
The traffic chief explained that the areas were clogged because motorists did not know that southbound vehicles are allowed to pass through N. Bacalso Avenue.
The new traffic scheme that will be implemented for the next three months will allow northbound vehicles to access N. Bacalso Avenue only from 6 am to 2 p.m.
