The provincial government called on the Department of Public Works and Highways regional office (DPWH-7) to put pavement markings on the national highway in light of a recent road accident in Compostela town.

Last Saturday, July 14, two died while four others were injured in a road collision between a tricycle and a minibus in Barangay Magay, Compostela, Cebu.

Capitol traffic management advisor Jonathan Tumulak said the two minibus units were reportedly well over the speed limit of 40 to 60 kph as they tried to get more passengers along the highway which resulted to the accident.

He said the police will determine what case will be filed against the drivers of the two minibus units involved in the incident.
