ON K-12 CASE

Netizens were quite vocal in their sentiments on a decision by the Department of Education (DepEd) to review the K-to-12 curriculum after two years of its implementation.

A netizen named Joven Claire commented, “Yes please. For STEM, there should be stem taking medical courses and stem for engineering. Back in 2000 we only had 1 math minor, now it’s 2 Gen. Math and Calculus. What if I only proceed to nursing or physical therapy?”

Jeprox Jepoy wrote, “K to 12 is world standard. It will benefit the future generations and not the present one. Give more focus on STEM subjects.”

While Rhudelyn Nebria Go said, “Before there’s no k-to-12 but still there were many successful students who graduated and got a good job. In fact some others got the higher position abroad…it depends on the students intellectual capability and not the length of education studied….well my opinion.”
