The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) has declared a red alert status starting 7 a.m. on Tuesday (October 9), in preparation for the filing of the Certificates of Candidacies (COCs) on Thursday (October 11).
Chief Supt. Debold Sinas, director of Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) said barangay monitoring centers will also be established to monitor incidents, especially in areas that were earlier declared as hotspots in previous elections.
Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) reminded aspiring candidates to comply with all the requirements for the filing of their COCs.
