SHS-AdC ready for USC-BED

THE SACRED Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles are 100 percent ready for their semifinal game against the University of San Carlos Basic Education (USC-BED) today in the 2018 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) secondary football tournament at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Magis Eagles head coach Oliver Colina said he expects a tough matchup with the Warriors.

“We will just play our normal game, stick to our game plan for attacking and defending,” said the Magis Eagles head coach Oliver Colina, who added that “their team (USC) is good also, they have a very good composure and a lot of young players also, same with our team.”

Ateneo will be missing its central back, Julian Matheu Cabatingan, who has been meted a two-game suspension, but Colina said the team is ready to face USC with or without him.

Colina said they have been training since Monday until yesterday morning wherein they worked on set pieces, defending corner kicks, free kicks and penalty kicks.

“My players worked a lot during training. We make them understand all the correction that we make in their play. We also call their attention if wee see them not working hard during training. They know how strict I am during the training and they also know how we bond and have fun after the training,” said Colina of his team.

The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars will face defending champions Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Greywolves in the other semis pair.

USJ-R will go up against DBTC at 1 p.m. while Ateneo will contest the other finals ticket against USC-BED right after.
