CATCH singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan as he serenades mall-goers at the lighting ceremony for the Festival of Lights today, 6 p.m. at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.
Affectionately dubbed as the “Father of Philippine Christmas Music,” Chan popularized favorite Christmas tunes such as “A Perfect Christmas” and “Christmas in Our Hearts.”
His 1990 holiday album also titled “Christmas in Our Hearts” is the best-selling OPM album to date.
The Children’s Paradise Montessori Choir led by Maestro Dennis Sugarol will serenade the crowd with classic Christmas songs while Members of Ballet Center Cebu will delight audiences with a performance inspired by classic Disney stories.
This year, Ayala Land, Inc. has partnered with The Walt Disney Company Philippines for “Reimagine the Magic: A Festival of Lights”, an audio-visual display featuring Disney-themed illuminations twinkling and dancing to Disney and Christmas songs every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. until January 20, 2019.
Award-winning lights and sounds director Voltaire de Jesus once again crafted the display’s lighting effects while composer and former musical director of Hong Kong Disneyland, Rony Fortich arranged the orchestral medleys of loved Disney tunes.
The magic of Disney, which spans generations, is reimagined in the light show alongside classic Disney songs such as “When You Wish Upon a Star,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Let it Go” to enchant kids and the young at heart.
The Festival of Lights has been an annual tradition at Ayala Center Cebu since 2014.
