TRI SND Barracuda’s ace triathlete Paul Jumamil and Marie Flor Justiniane emerged winners in the San Remigio 80/80 Triathlon held in San Remigio town, north Cebu, last Sunday.
The Boholano Jumamil, a former Asian Elite champion of the Ironman 70. Philippines, crossed the finish line in three hours, 30 minutes and 33 seconds to win the men’s race.
Justiniane, who is from Lapu-Lapu City, finished the race in 4:46.02 to emerge as overall champion in the women’s side.
The race featured a 1.9-kilometer swim, 65k bike, and 14k run in a scenic race course in northern Cebu.
Ralph Martin Sios-E of Team Subzero Light finished second with a time of 3:50.02 while John Paul Suson of Team Lycans triathlon completed the top three in the men’s category.
Zusette Co of Metafit Tri Team (4:59.13) and May Anne Mares of Tri Briz (5:18.48) were the runners-up in the women’s race.
In the 40/40 race, Team Forza Triathlon’s Christian Lloyd Saladaga won the male overall category with a time of 1:43.34 while Team Kaloy’s Marecor Baclay ruled the distaff side with a time of 2:18.27.
