ASIA’S Nightingale Lani Misalucha is happy for her friend, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s transfer to ABS-CBN after being with GMA Network for 20 years.
Misalucha, who spoke to Cebu media and bloggers after Mandani Bay’s Thanksgiving concert last November 24, said that Velasquez-Alcasid’s decision was a career move.
“I guess it is something that she has been wanting to do. You know it is a new phase in her career, a new chapter of her life and I know that there’s gonna be a lot more opportunities for her,” she said.
Misalucha and Velasquez-Alcasid last project together in GMA was the singing competition, “The Clash.”
Misalucha was one of the judges along with Christian Bautista and Ai-ai delas Alas. Velasquez-Alcasid was the show’s host.
“When I had the chance to chika with her during ‘The Clash’ pa, she said, ‘I’m sorry’ and she has to do this and I guess she has nothing to be sorry about,” Misalucha said.
She said that Velasquez-Alcasid does not need to apologize for her decision.
“You know it is a career move. I just wish her well and that she’s gonna be happy in her new endeavor,” she said.
Velasquez-Alcasid is currently a regular in ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show, “ASAP Natin ‘To,” and will next appear on “Idol Philippines,” and a sitcom with her husband, Ogie Alcasid.
