PARAGSA Consultancy took a step closer to ending the year with a bang as they nipped the defending champions Lycans, 74-57, to take Game 1 of the best-of-three finals in Season 5 of the Duterte Basketball League last Sunday at the Capitol Parish gym.
Junrey Hoybia exploded for 23 points while Darius Baguio added 10 to help Paragsa take a 1-0 series lead.
Paragsa can take home the title with a victory in Game 2, slated for December 9 at the same venue.
Battle for third
Meanwhile, SAGBAF Enterprises won third place honors with a 97-89 win over the Gifters. RJ Acha waxed hot from the field and scored 33 points while Jam Ferraren was just as lethal, piling up 25 markers.
