THE TOP-RANKED teams in the Elite Classic and the Evo League divisions advanced to the semifinals in the 2018 Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball last weekend at the City Sports Club-Cebu.

The Accenture Sharks, the top seed in the Elite Classic, dumped the Wipro Tigers, 88-54, while the second-seed, the Teleperformance Vipers, ousted the QBE Generals in dominant fashion, 97-55.
They will now await the winner of the quarterfinal match-up between the Converters and the Fusion Dragons.

Jetro Gonzaga led the Sharks with 14 points, while Archie Brian Vincent Batua and Aldene Batino added 11 and 10 markers, respectively.

The Vipers, on the other hand, got a monster game from Mon Dico, who piled up 22 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Former Cesafi big man Earl Undaloc added 21 while Hope Canonigo fired in 19 points to help usher Teleperformance to the best-of-three semis.

In the EVO League, the top-ranked Dreamscape Networks Lions moved on to the semis with a 70-58 win over the Shearwater Health Crusaders.
MVP contender Ralph Belarmino was his usual unstoppable self as he tacked on 37 points, 17 rebounds, seven steals and six assists to keep the Lions unbeaten in 16 games so far this season.

However, the second seed in the Evo League, the Kyocera Frontiers, got upset by the JP Morgan Chase and Co. Bankers, 59-68, to force a do-or-die match.

At the forefront of JP Morgan’s win was Peaen Jazz Bartoces who had 27 points. Big man Fritz Malinao added 12 markers, 13 rebounds, three assists and a block.
