LAST December, the management of Pioneer Group decided to forego its traditional Christmas party celebration to contribute more sufficiently to rebuilding efforts in typhoon Yolanda-affected areas.
The Christmas party fund was pooled with donations from colleagues, individuals and partner-donors such as Tysers, Nipponkoa, GlobalHealth, Medialdea Law Offices, and Almajo Development Corp., raising a total of Php3.1 million.
Pioneer Foundation Inc., the CSR arm of Pioneer Group, entrusted the Php3.1 million to the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development, Inc. (CARD Inc.) for a housing and livelihood rehabilitation project in the towns of Basey and Balanguiga in Samar.
Atty. Betty Medialdea, President of Pioneer Foundation Inc. says, “We are one with the entire nation in helping our countrymen to rebuild their lives and communities. We hope that our contributions will bring much needed assistance to them.”
