CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu City Public Library is the recipient of the Special Award for 2018’s Top Performing Public Library in the Philippines given by the National Library of the Philippines and the Asia Foundation.

Chief Librarian Rosario Chua received the award during the National Conference of Librariasn, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan last March 19, 2019.
The award is based on the number of clients the library can serve and the services provided.

“Based atong December 2018, 130,000 plus (clients served), services include providing learning spaces, language classes, public speaking workshop, storytelling session, electronic braille film screening, research and digital literacy” stated Chua.
Chua said she was happy with the award and she thanked the local government unit for their support in their needs, friends, and the library’s staff members for their efforts to make the Cebu City Public Library as one of the best libraries in the Philippines./dbs
