CEBU CITY, Philippines – Bus and mini bus drivers in Cebu province and the rest of Central Visayas will already be collecting the new minimum fare of P9 for the first five kilometers of travel and another P1.55 for the succeeding kilometers starting on April 1.
Julie Flores, chairman of the Cebu Provincial Bus and Mini Bus Operators Transport Cooperative, said the new rate is P3 more than the existing minimum fare of P6 for the first five kilometers of travel. Succeeding kilometers are now charged P1.20.
“Pero dili pa maka pangulekta ug taas nga pletehan ang wala pa maka kuha ug bag o nga taripa or wala pa maka bayad sa LTFRB. Please report to LTO or LTFRB kong wala silay ikapakita nga taripa,” Flores said in a Facebook post at 2 p.m. today, March 26.
Commuters were unhappy with Flores’ FB announcement.
“Samot nag daku ang plete,” commented Junrel Alegado.
