Cebu City, Philippines —  A couple was arrested inside a pension house after a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tisa on Thursday dawn, March 28, 2019.

Chief Inspector Keith Allen Andaya, precinct commander of the Labangon Police Station, identified the suspects as Adora Tapales, 34, from Barangay Lorega San Miguel, and Jonathan Geneva, 28, from Sitio Hudas in Barangay Tinago, who works as a service crew for a restaurant chain.

Seized from the suspects were four medium packs and several sachets of alleged shabu which has an estimated value of P136,000.

According to Andaya, the couple is capable of disposing half to one kilo of illegal drugs every week based on a list they recovered from the suspects and the amount of shabu found from their rented room.

The information officer of the pension house  told Cebu Daily News Digital that the couple has been renting a room for two months already for P1,000 a day. This raised more suspicion since police learned that Tapales was unemployed.

Both suspects are currently detained at the Barangay Punta Princessa Police Precinct pending the filing of charges. /bmjo
