Cebu City, Philippines—Medellin and Tabuelan have booked slots in the next round of the 2019 Governor’s Cup basketball tournament.
This development came to be after Medellin stunned Bogo City, 80-77, in overtime on Sunday, March 31, 2019, in 4th District action in the game that was held on Medellin’s home floor.
After a quiet first half, Fritz Saladaga exploded for 27 points in the second half and the extra session to finish with an incredible 33 points to give Medellin a 5-1 win-loss card at the end of this round.
Bogo, Madridejos and Tabuelan all ended up with similar 4-2 cards but it was determined that Tabuelan would earn the last ticket to the next round as it ended up with a superior quotient score of 1.05, a hair better than that of Bogo’s 1.04. Madridejos finished with a quotient score of 0.92. /bmjo
