Cebu City, Philippines — For the second time in three months, the home of port police officer Vincent Revilla Castrodes was disturbed by an explosion.

This time, it was shots of gunfire that Castrodes heard from outside his home at the GSIS Compound along F.Llamas Street in Barangay Basak San Nicolas late Sunday evening, March 31, 2019.

Castrodes reported the incident to the Mambaling Police Station (Presinto 11), which is headed by its chief Francis Renz Talosig.

Castrodes told the police that he heard gunfire shots at around 10:45 p.m. from outside his home.

Castrodes said he didn’t go out until a few minutes after the shots stopped. Upon checking, he found that it was his vehicle parked outside his home that was peppered with bullets.

The responding Scene of Crime Operatives (SOCO) found seven empty shells of still unknown caliber outside Castrodes’ home.

Talosig said they are still investigating the motive behind the shooting incident.

Castrodes, though, believes the persons behind the incident are the same ones who planted an pillbox outside his home last January 13, 2019.

The improvised bomb exploded that early Sunday morning just beside the gate of the house of Castrodes, who is assigned at the Cebu Port Police Office based in Cebu City. /bmjo
