CEBU CITY, Philippines — A 15-year-old boy and his 22-year-old cousin, who are suspects in an alleged rape of two girls, 13 and 14 years old, are still being pursued by the Cebu City police.
Police Corporal Marivic Casañares, Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk of the Guadalupe Police Precinct, said that the suspects were no longer in their houses when police looked for them there after the girls, who claimed they were raped, identified the suspects as the culprits.
Casañares said that the 13-year-old victim claimed that the one who allegedly raped her was the 22-year-old cousin of their friend while the 14-year-old victim pointed to their 15-year-old friend as the one who sexually assaulted her.
She said that initial investigation showed that the girls agreed to have a drinking session with their 15-year-old friend and they were later joined by the 22-year-old cousin of their friend.
The girls got drunk and that was when the boy and his cousin took advantage of them.

At past 3 a.m., barangay tanods, patrolling the area, chanced upon the girls, who sought their help. The tanods, in turn, brought the girls to the police station and reported the alleged rape.
The girls were then brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center Pink Room where they were checked if they were sexually assaulted and to undergo treatment if needed.
But Casañares said that the 13-year-old victim had blood on her shorts while the 14-year-old told police that she also believed that she was sexually assaulted./dbs
