CEBU CITY, Philippines –  The National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI -7) welcomed the arrest of another suspect in the brutal killing of Christine Lee Silawan.

Lawyer Tomas Enrile, NBI -7 director, said that the capture of the 42-year-old suspect, who admitted to killing the church collector, was a positive development.

“We take it as a positive development. Walang problema if PNP or NBI -7 yung nag arrest ng suspect,” said Enrile.

Enrile also said that the arrest of a second suspect will not in any way affect the murder case which they filed before the Lapu-Lapu City Prosecutors Office against Silawan’s former boyfriend and schoolmate.

Nakafile na yun. That will stand, may ebidensya kami duon kaya tuloy na yun,” said Enrile.

“It will not be affected, and we have presented an evidence it to the court,” he added. / dcb
