Cebu City, Philippines—Adulthood means being realistic. It is no longer about living a fairytale princess’ life.

With this in mind, Vanezza Faith De Leon Miranda opted to have her pre-debut photo shoot in places in Cebu City where adults would often go and do the things that they needed to do.

And the outcome of her Conceptual Street Pre-Debut Photoshoot was priceless.

“A lot of people asked me why I chose this kind of theme on my pre-debut photoshoot. I just wanted to be authentic on my theme. I wanted to showcase Cebu and (the) Cebuana beauty. Most of the people thought that Cebu is “just” Cebu. However, when you look closely to it, you’ll find the genuine smiles and determine(d) hearts of the people living in it. Some may say, “hey! Your venues are way too simple!” Oh dear, adulthood will take you to these places. Places where adventures await and your soul must be brave enough to face it.The world of legality welcomes you to a more realistic responsibilities and not a princess’ duties. Learn to ride a jeepney because you won’t always be picked up by a Ferrari,” she posted on her Facebook page on April 19.

As of noontime today, April 21, Miranda’s post already generated 304 engagements, 58 comments and 17 shares.

“Oh my goodness! Absolutely blown away!! So beautiful ❤️❤️❤️,” said Lauren Smith.

Miranda of Talisay City is celebrating her 18th birthday on May 26.

Ahead of her big day, the future accountant went around downtown Cebu City to visit and highlight places that she would often go to.

One of her pre-debut photos showed Miranda in a blue dress taking a jeepney ride at the Taboan Public Market terminal.  In another photo, Miranda was surrounded by containers of dried fish sold inside the public market.

Her other photos were taken inside the historic Fort San Pedro, with roadside jewelry cleaners, a pottery shop, and inside a fabric store located along Colon Street.

One of her most commented photo was the one taken while Miranda was eating on a roadside siomai stall.

“The idea of the concept is from the photographer Mr. Edu Cortez of ExtremeDetails Photography, it is called Conceptual Street Pre-Debut Photoshoot. We wanted to showcase Cebu and (the) Cebuana beauty. We wanted to change others perception of Cebu as “just” Cebu. Because Cebu has its unique beauty that others need to find that genuine smiles likewise hearts of the people living in it” Miranda said in an interview with CDN Digital.

Miranda said that her most favorite shot was the one taken with the siomai vendor.

“People knew me as person who craves for food and really loves to travel everywhere especially when its for a spiritual purpose,” she said.

Miranda said that even before her big comes, her heart is now full of gratitude especially for her parents,  Vernieline and Nilo, who helped her prepare for her journey to maturity.

“From the little girl (that) I used to be to the woman (that) I should be. My heart is full of gratitude because God has blessed me with another year to enjoy. This tremendous event will surely bring me to the maturity side of life. But I believe that age is just (a) number, experience defines maturity. You better get ready, coming soon is a wiser and stronger Vanezza Faith through God’s help,” said her FB post.

“Lastly, to those people out there who are afraid to put some creativity with their photos because of their body shape, size and color, chin up beautiful, just because you didn’t pass the world’s standards of beauty, doesn’t mean you are not wonderfully made. We’re not born perfect, yet we are here to embrace our imperfections. Yes I am fat but I can do things that other people can’t.”/dcb
