Kim Chiu celebrates birthday in Quezon, takes social media break

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebuana actress Kim Chiu had a one-day social media break while she celebrated her 29th birthday on April 19 in a private resort in Quezon Province.

Chiu revealed in an Instagram post on April 20, Saturday where she thanked her family, friends, and supporters for remembering her special day.

“Because yesterday was a Good Friday, I took a social media day off to honor and reflect how Jesus died for us and at the same time it was my day of birth and I just want to say THANK YOU to the man above for giving me this wonderful life,” she captioned her photo on Instagram.

She also received greetings from fellow celebrities like Joj Agpangan, Ina Raymundo, Jake Cuenca, Kevin Balot, Doug Kramer, and Jessy Mendiola.

Chiu’s boyfriend actor Xian Lim also took to Instagram in greeting the Kapamilya actress.

He shared photos on his account during their recent trip in Taiwan and expressed love to her.

Lim recalled that he first met Chiu 10 years ago.

One day while he was driving, he saw one of her billboards and said, “Siguro ang sarap mahalin ang isang tulad mo. True enough, we started working together and I fell in love with you right away. I think it is safe to say that we fell in love with each other right away.”

In 2018, Chiu revealed that she is in a relationship with Lim. The real-life couple is also set to topbill a new television series titled, “Love Thy Woman” with Erich Gonzales.

The Kapamilya actor continued his post and wishes Chiu to continue to be herself.

“We see an awesome person that is brought in this world for a great reason. Keep inspiring the people around you and stay beautiful inside and out. Those three words are not enough but I’ll say it anyway… I love you,” he said.

Chiu rose to fame when she won the first teen edition of the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) in 2006. 

She then headlined television series like “My Girl”, “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo”, “My Binondo Girl”, “Ina, Kapatid, Anak”, “Ikaw Lamang”, “The Story Of Us”, and “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin.”
