CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Canes couple, who was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in Mandaue City, will be buried on Saturday, April 27.
The family said that they could not give further details on the time because were still working on the necessary papers for the burial of Michael Canes and his wife Fraldine Kate Canes.
The Canes couple were killed in Barangay Ibabao, Mandaue City at past 11 p.m. last April 14, Sunday.

Franny Ramayla, the father of Fraldine, told Cebu Daily News Digital in a phone interview that they would hold a motorcade this coming Sunday, a day after the burial, to seek justice for the couple’s death.
The motorcade at 8 a.m. will start in Pahara, a mini- park under the second Mandaue-Mactan bridge and then to the Mandaue City Police Station 5, then to the Hall of Justice and then to the Mandaue City Hall.
Ramayla also affirmed the family’s plan to seek help from President Rodrigo Duterte.

In earlier interviews, Fraldine’s mother said that she planned to go to the Malacañang Palace after the burial of the couple to seek help from the President.
“Ang mga salarin gyud unta. Ang ato gyud una nga intension is una ma hatagan gyud unta og solusyon,” said Ramayla.
(The perpetrators should have been who they were going after. Our only intention in seeking the President’s help is to have a solution to case on the killing of their children.)
He said that they also planned to ask Duterte to tell the police to avoid making any rash conclusion to investigations.
“Mabadlong pod unta ning mga opisyales sa (police)… mo conclude ra dayun sila kung unsay ihatag didto without any further investigation,” said Ramayla.

Ramayla said it was difficult to accept the death of the couple and it was even more painful when both of them were being suspected of having links to drugs.
“Unta naa gyud sila’y (police) probable cause,” said Ramayla.
(The police should have probable cause first.)
Aside from the President, the family was also planning to seek help from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) as well.
