CVIRAA ends Palaro at 5th place overall

CEBU CITY, Philippines – The Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) ended its 2019 stint in the Palarong Pambansa in Davao City in fifth (5th) place overall.

CVIRAA accumulated a total medal tally of 24 golds, 22 silvers and 33 bronze medals.

Region VII was two gilts behind its performance last year in Vigan when it successfully climbed back to fourth (4th) place from a ninth (9th) place finish in 2017 with 26-25-36.

For the nth time, the National Capital Regional Athletic Association (NCRAA) ruled the competition with a medal haul of 86-71-56.

There’s actually no change in rankings in the top 3 for the past couple of years with Region 4A or the Southern Tagalog-Calabarzon Athletic Association (STCAA) and Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) once again placing second and third.

STCAA is at far second with 66-49-73 while WVRAA once again ended as the best in the Visayas with 49-40-58.

With two gilts ahead of CVIRAA, SOCCSKSARGEN took up the fourth spot with 26-43-40.

Landing at the sixth to the 10th places, respectively, were Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (23-29-33), Bicol Regional Athletic Association (23-22-30), Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Association (17-27-26), Ilocos Region (16-13-21) and Cordillera Administrative Region (14-13-24).
