CEBU CITY, Philippines—Two motorcycle drivers died in a vehicular accident along the Cebu South Road in Barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu, at around 2 a.m. Monday morning, September 9, 2019.
The victims were identified as Lester Claro Juban, 22, a resident of Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, Cebu and Christopher Pellare delos Santos, 30, from Alcoy town, Cebu.
Another person was injured in the accident. He was identified as John Paul Parado, 22, from Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City, Cebu, who was the backrider of Juban.

According to Police Master Sergeant Junyl Ater, day desk officer of Minglanilla police, Juban was driving a Yamaha Sniper while Delos Santos was driving a Skygo motorcycle.
Ater said the Yamaha motorcycle driven by Juban was heading south when he swerved towards the opposite lane and hit Delos Santos, who was northbound. Their motorcycles collided head on.
A medical response team and traffic police responded in the area and assisted the three victims.
They were brought to the nearby Minglanilla district hospital but Juban and Delos Santos were declared DOA by the attending physician. Parado suffered several injuries and is still recovering in the district hospital.
Ater added their office is currently planning to conduct safety information drive to remind the vehicle drivers about the road rules they must follow to avoid accident like this. /bmjo
