The parents of baby Yohannes, the newborn boy whose mouth was taped by a nurse in a private hospital asked media to allow them to spend quality time with each other.
Their story had been published around the world, including established media outlets like the Daily Mail Online, Times of India, and other online news aggregators.
Ryan Noval in his Facebook post said his baby’s story shouldn’t be just as a trending topic but a reminder on how to improve medical services in the country.
“Our story is not about how trending it is this week but how we can influence the medical and care giving industry,” Noval said in his Facebook post.
While they are still preparing for the case to be filed against the person responsible, they asked the media to respect their time as new parents.
“We don’t want the limelight and it’s super exhausting enough just being new parents,” he said. But Noval thanked those who supported them in their case.
“There’s no mistake that case will be filed. We’re just exhausted,” Noval said.
