Cebu City records another low in new COVID-19 cases

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Cebu City on Monday, May 18, 2020, recorded another low number of new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.

City Legal Officer and lawyer Rey Gealon, spokesperson of Mayor Edgardo Labella, announced in a live press conference that the city logged only nine cases for Monday.

Eight of the new cases are Barangay Ermita, bringing its total confirmed cases to 16. The other new COVID-19 patient is from Barangay Mambaling, Gealon said.

This development brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Cebu City to 1,752, majority of which is still from Alaska Mambaling with 617.

No new deaths and recoveries were recorded on Monday, keeping the tallies at 15 and 102, respectively. /bmjo
