Davide is region’s new POC chairman

CEBU Gov. Hilario Davide III was appointed as the new chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) last Friday.

Davide was designated by Interior Secretary Mar Roxas who also chairs the National Peace and Order Council, to succeed Bohol Gov. Edgardo Chatto. His appointment was approved by President Benigno S. Aquino III.

The governor met with Secretary Roxas during the presentation of rehabilitation plans before the Cabinet secretaries last Friday. He will serve as council chairman for three years.

Davide said he will convene the council on June 23.
