Six Cebu graudates landed in the top ten in last May’s Nursing Licensure Examination based on results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released yesterday.
Bernard Vonn Kyle Icamen, a 21-year-old graduate of Cebu Normal University (CNU) ranked third with an average of 85.20.
The resident of Punta Princessa, Labangon, Cebu City graduated last April 7.
He told Cebu Daily News last night that he learned of the results through calls and text messages from friends.
“I am very happy that I passed. I really felt the pressure,” Icamen said.
Two other topnotchers are also from CNU.
Karen Torregosa Celeteria and Claire Princess Ypil Quinones both got an average of 83.8 to land in 10th place.
CNU also ranks as one on the top performing schools in the May 2014 Nursing Licensure Examination when all 78 of its examinees passed or a performance of 100 percent for the school.
Other top performing schools based on the percentage of its passers were the West Visayas State University- La Paz and Siliman University.
Allyson Gaile Nidoy Saplad of Velez College scored an average of 84.20 to rank eighth place.
Velez College is also in the top 5 performing schools with 127 passers out of 132 examinees or a 96.21 passing percentage.
Other passers are Hazel Marie Otero Echavez of Cebu Doctors University (CDU) and Mark James Ibale Melandres of University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR).
Both got an average of 84 percent to land in ninth place.
