Mandaue breaches 200-mark in new COVID-19 cases

MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – With 22 new cases added to its growing list, Mandaue City breached the 200-mark in the number of active cases of the coronavirus disease on Saturday, January 23.

Its Public Information Office (PIO) reported that the city’s active cases already reached a total of 203.

The city only logged five recoveries on Saturday.

Mandaue City’s new cases include a one-year-old girl from Barangay Maguikay.  The oldest among its new patients is a 64-year-old male resident of the same barangay.

The city’s new cases are from Jagobiao – 3, Banilad – 3, Tabok – 2, Casuntigan – 2, and Maguikay – 2. Barangays Canduman, Cubacub, Pagsabungan, Tawason, Centro, Guizo, Opao, Bakilid, Subangdaku, and Tipolo also have one new case each.

As of Saturday, the city’s recovery count was at 2,391 while its COVID-related deaths remained at 172.
