CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu City police rounded up 84 curfew and health protocol violators during their regular round-up on Thursday, February 4, Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of the Cebu City Police Office, confirmed.
Parilla said that among the arrested individuals were 10 minors who were caught by Station 3 (Waterfront Police Station) operatives inside internet cafes.
The minors were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) which will then turn them over to their parents or guardians.
The remaining 74 arrested individuals were turned over to the Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification, and Enhancement (PROBE) team. They were placed in two new holding areas, 46 in Barangay Labangon and 38 in Barangay San Roque, Cebu City. They were rounded up for violating the city’s curfew and for not wearing face masks.
Parilla also mentioned that there were no establishments that violated the liquor ban issued by Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella last February 3, 2021. Despite this, Parilla said they will continue to strictly implement the ban to mitigate the further spread of the virus.

“So far sa liquor ban wa tay nadakpan kay mga buotan na atong mga establishments, mutuman na sila pero bisan paman ato gihapon ning ipadayun especially karon nga Friday ug Saturday,” said Parilla.
(So far, there were no violations of the liquor ban, because our establishments have been very compliant. However, we will remain on the lookout especially since the weekend is upon us.)
Parilla also disclosed that the latest figures of arrested quarantine violators are much lesser than the previous ones forwarded to their office. However, he promised that his men will continue to be vigilant.

Parilla added that they are still recommending the adjustment of the city’s curfew from 11 p.m. to an hour earlier at 10 p.m. /rcg
