MANDAUE CITY, Philippines — More frontliners in Mandaue City have been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Monday, March 22, 2021.
These frontliners were from the City Health Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), midwives and nurses in the barangays, and contact tracers.
Dr. Dominga Obenza, City health officer and member of the city’s COVID-19 vaccine board, said the Mandaue City Hospital received 300 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine on March 21.
The inoculation will last on March 23.
She said another batch of COVID-19 vaccines was also expected to arrive in the city hospital soon for the second shot of these frontliners.

2 Mandaue hospitals start vaccine roll-out
Obenza said following the priority sectors, the staff of the private and public hospitals in the city were already inoculated and the personnel in the Isolation Units were almost done with their vaccination.
Aside from the 12 CDRRMO personnel that were vaccinated in the City Hospital.
Other 17 CDRRMO personnel were also inoculated in the University of Cebu Medical Center (UCMED) on March 19 and 20.
Buddy Alain Ybañez, MCDRRMO head, said the personnel that were vaccinated were the ones that had contacts or regularly face COVID-19 patients like the ones who would send patients in the isolation units, disinfection team, among others.
The Mandaue’s CDRRMO has 130 personnel.
Obenza said the personnel were substitutes of the UCMED’s personnel who refused to be vaccinated.
City Councilor Nerissa Soon-Ruiz, overseer of the vaccination, coordination, and implementation team of the city’s COVID-19 vaccine board, said aside from the personnel from private hospitals, they had a masterlist of about 2,000 frontliners in the city.
Ruiz is encouraging frontliners and the public to get vaccinated as it would help protect them against the virus.
