Meanwhile, Dr. Faith Villanueva, Chong Hua’s COVID-19 vaccination task force head said a total of 1,789 doses of Corovac were allocated to the hospital by the Department of Health (DOH).

Villanueva said they started the inoculation drive on Monday, March 8, 2021, to Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at the Chong Hua Hospital-Fuente in which around 1,500 medical workers have been vaccinated.

She added today was the first day for their medical workers at the Mandaue branch to be inoculated.

Sharolette Ortiz, the hospital’s patient & customer relations manager, said the medical workers that were vaccinated are the ones that have contacts and who regularly attend to confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients.

AC Karl Tañedo, Infection Contol Manager, said only a few have felt the side effects after being vaccinated which were all mild.

“Gamay ra kaayo nga population, katol-katol, namuwa, nanginit ang dunggan, wala gyud tong naglisod og ginhawa,” he said.

The activities were attended by the city officials led by Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes.

Cortes said he is also willing to get vaccinated of any available brand of COVID-19 vaccine to boost the public’s confidence about the vaccine. However, Cortes said the list of priority individuals should be followed first. /rcg
