IN PHOTOS: Orderly ports in Cebu for Good Friday

CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Cebu Port Authority (CPA) has reported orderly and near-empty ports around Cebu on Good Friday, April 2, 2021.

The CPA has set up assistance desks and carefully monitored the movement of the passengers during the Holy Week as traditionally this time of the year, travelers would be going home to their provinces.

However, with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic affecting travel restrictions, this has been reflected in near empty ports around Cebu.

The passenger count is visibly less as compared to the past days as well especially at the Cebu City ports, Pier Uno and Pier Tres, and at the Hagnaya Port in San Remigio town and Sta. Fe Port in Sta. Fe town, Bantayan Island.

The CPA reminds travelers to prepare the proper documents prior to traveling and avoid bringing prohibited items such as sharp objects.

Travellers must also maintain the basic health protocols such as the wearing of face masks, face shields, maintaining social and physical distancing, as well as disinfecting regularly.

Those with flu-like symptoms and fever are encouraged not to travel anymore.
