‘Special tasks’ await Dejoras

Vicente Dejoras Jr. , who was sanctioned for mauling a bus dispatcher, will be given “special tasks” following his relief as administrator of the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT).

Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III said Dejoras would remain with the Office of the Governor but will temporarily report to the Civil Security Unit (CSU) until he is given a new assignment.

“I can assign him anywhere, but in the meantime, he is working at the CSU,” Davide said.

Davide said he already reprimanded the employee for mauling dispatcher Glen Marc Alpuerto.
Dejoras was also served a 10-day suspension.

Governor Davide said he was exercising his prerogative as the employee’s superior.

“If our employees do good, we recognize them. But if they make mistakes, we reprimand and discipline them,” said Davide.

Restituto Dosdos del Rosario Jr. was appointed the new bus terminal administrator.

Loy Madrigal, CSU head, said Dejoras will probably join the anti-illegal fishing operations team and help monitor province-owned properties.

Madrigal said Dejoras was trying to defend himself during the altercation with the dispatcher.

“Based on the investigation, he (Dejoras) acted out of self-defense. It was not his intention to punch him,” Madrigal.

Madrigal confirmed Dejoras’ earlier claim about the bus dispatchers mischief.

“He (Alpuerto) threatened to stab Dejoras,” said Madrigal.

However, Governor Davide said that Dejoras’ claim of self-defense was not enough to justify his mauling of the dispatcher.

“The position he (Dejoras) was holding was a position of trust and confidence,” Davide added.
