CEBU CITY, Philippines — Being the first homegrown team to compete in the Philippine Football League (PFL), the Dynamic Herb Cebu Football Club (DH Cebu FC) is calling out to Cebuanos to support them in their upcoming campaign.

The DH Cebu FC recently got its provisional license to play in the country’s premier football league.

Formerly known as the vaunted Leylam FC, the DH Cebu FC promises to showcase what truly Cebuanos are capable of in the sport.

Thus, the team’s technical director, Ugur Tasci is asking everyone’s support in their upcoming campaign in the 2021 PFL season that kicks off later this month in Manila.

Tasci said in a statement that he would want the club to ask for the support from both the private and government sectors.

He said that what the club would need would be local officials to be behind them in this endeavor through whatever support they could give.

As for the private sector, especially the Cebu business community, Tasci said that they would all be welcomed to give the club their support because he would want the club to be a representation of everything that is Cebu.

“Of course they don’t know yet what is the football club, or what we are doing here, but they are welcome to check us out. It is not about how much they can contribute, but it is about how much support they can give,” Tasci said.

He added that whatever support they could give would make the club feel better, stronger, and confident.

He said that the club had a lot of reasons why they deserved everyone’s support.

He cited numerous times the team represented Cebu in major football tournaments in the county and even in international football tournaments.

They are also the former champions of the prestigious Aboitiz Football Cup men’s open.

Tasci said that they persevered despite the limitations and challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said that it was not easy for the club to form a senior men’s team, but they were very determined to represent the Cebu football community in the PFL.

“This is our own, our pride, I urge all Cebuanos to support us, follow us, this is your real Cebu team, we represent the whole of Cebu island. We want all Cebuanos beside us, in this journey,” Tasci said.

“We are going to bring excitement, and fun to the PFL. Manila be ready and wait for us, we are coming!”
