More than 600 runners took part in the maiden fun run of the Holy Rosary School of Pardo which hopes to raise funds for the construction of a new school building.
And with yesterday’s success, organizers led by the school’s alumni association are now planning to stage another run before the year ends and on Feb. 14, Valentines Day.
Ricky Abalayan and Dr. Grace Araw-araw topped the 3k division by clocking 11:28 and 19:36, respectively. Trailing Abalayan were Paul Neil Maaghop (15:58) and Fransol Pasatiempo (15:59).
Runners-up in the women’s 3k were Baby Denie Montesa Caballero (19:42) and Yoya Sandra Orate (19:53).
The top three men’s winners in the one-kilometer run were Marc Dave del Socorro (5:29), Jimken Banilad (5:39) and Louis Anthony Pagador (8:56) while Karina Adel Vestil (8:15), Mae Trishia Sagarino (10:10) and Allyza Jane Jumawan (13:48) ruled the women’s side.
“We are very happy for the great response and participation not just by the alumni but also by the school itself. We will surely comeback in the running scene the soonest and we will plan out a running event that will be open to every runner here in Cebu,” said alumni association president Vicky Cabellon.
Race director was Joel Juarez and his team from Coco Running.
