Despite getting robbed seven times, courier firm LBC will not be hiring security guards. They however promised to have their outlets equipped with functioning closed-circuit television cameras.
About 10 managers of different LBC branches in Cebu City yesterday met with police officials led by Cebu City chief of police, Senior Supt. Noli Romana.
“They never committed to hire security guards as decided by management,” Romana told reporters.
Sherwin Navarro, LBC head for southern Cebu said that they will just rely on the police for their security.
He said the decision to hire security guards will depend on the management of their head office.
Employees of the courier company will be made to undergo drills on emergency security procedures with the police committing to increase the frequency of patrols in the vicinity of their outlets.
Seven LBC outlets have been robbed so far this year with its Punta Princesa branch the latest to get waylaid last Tuesday.
The outlet’s CCTV camera was out of order at the time of the attack.
