Girl, 6, padlocked in poultry house

Two minors were abused in separate incidents in Cebu City.

One occurred Friday evening in Guba, barangay Talamban while the other incident was in barangay Tisa Saturday morning.

In Talamban, police arrested Mercedita Mahusay and Lucas Antolihaw, both 47, for allegedly putting their six-year-old granddaughter inside a padlocked poultry house.

The poultry had chicken dung and was infested with flies. It was located beside their house.

PO1 Gringo Muldez, desk officer of the Talamban Police Station, said the girl’s mother went to the house of her estranged husband to get her daughter. She had left the child in their care a few years ago.

When the mother arrived at the house of her estranged husband, she discovered that her daughter was padlocked. She then called the police.

Law enforcers took the girl, who sobbed upon seeing her mother and the authorities.

Neighbors couldn’t believe what just happened, said Muldez, as she seemed to be their favorite.

The police did not detain the girl’s uncle who is still a minor.

In another incident, a 14-year-old girl complained that she was molested by her neighbor, Anecito dela Cerna, 40, while she was on board his tricycle.

The girl told her mother that dela Cerna touched her breast.

The mother and the girl reported the matter to the police station.

The suspect, when arrested, denied molesting the girl.

He told the police that he had not intended to touch the girl’s private part, as it was just an accident, said P03 Robert de Castro, desk officer of Punta Police Station.
