A supervisor of a fast food company who was terminated from work ran off with the store’s P350,000 cash and fled to Mindanao, but he was arrested even before he could disembark from the ship that took him to Surigao City yesterday morning.

Erwin Padillon, 31, a native of Agusan del Norte, supervised seven branches of a burger joint in Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu cities.

Senior Insp. Wilbert Parilla of Lapu-Lapu City’s Police Station 3 said Padillon was fired last Sept. 5 and four days later, the P350,000 cash placed in a steel cabinet of the store was found missing by the worker who was supposed to deposit it in the bank.

Their security cameras and their computer’s central processing unit was also destroyed.

The store owner sought police assistance and searched for Padillon’s live-in partner, who then called Padillon.

The suspect admitted he took the store’s cash and told her he was on his way to Surigao City.
Police recovered the money which was in Padillon’s bag.
