LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — The Lapu-Lapu City Government plans to build 5,000 units for their socialized housing project which will rise in Barangay Canjulao.
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan said that the contractor of the project is expected to present model houses next month.
The project will be under a Private-Public Partnership (PPP), wherein the city would still have to study the terms of payment for the beneficiaries of the project.
The housing units will be built on a 25-hectare reclaimed lot in the said barangay.
“Hopefull by March, makakita nata, moadto ta, mo-visit ta inig human sa model house. There are three kinds of model houses, mao na nga tulo ang pilian nato,” Chan said.
Chan, however, said that they will be prioritizing those who were affected by demolitions and families living in danger zones.
Aside from this, to ensure that beneficiaries can pay their monthly amortization, the city will also implement livelihood projects in the said area.
“Tan-awon nato pilay cost niining balay, basta maka-assure ta nga the house and lot is very affordable. Assurance nato nga affordable gyud para nila,” he added. /rcg
