CEBU CITY, Philippines — A total of P3.8 million worth of ‘shabu’ was confiscated from three different buy-bust operations conducted on February 25, 2022, in the cities of Talisay and Danao.
The first buy-bust operation happened in Danao City past 12:30 am on Friday, wherein police were able to arrest a certain Jan Vincent Anthony Bujawe, 29, a dressed chicken vendor and reportedly an ex-convict who resides in Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Guinacot.
This operation was conducted by the personnel of the Police Intelligence Unit of the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO). Bujawe is currently detained at the holding facility of the CPPO.
An hour later, police of Talisay City was also able to arrest Ruel Bazar, 38, a construction worker and a resident of Sitio Laray, Barangay San Roque in Talisay City. Bazar is currently residing at Sitio Mahayag 2, Barangay San Isidro in the said city.
Police confiscated 55 grams of ‘shabu’ worth P374,000 from the suspect. According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of Talisay City Police Station, Bazar has been the subject of reports on involvement in illegal drug trade.
Bazar is currently detained at the Talisay City Police Station.
Following Bazar’s arrest was also a separate buy-bust operation that occurred at around 5:40 a.m. at Rabaya Compound in Barangay Bulacao in Talisay City.
Police nabbed a 24-year-old female, a certain Aira Dayono, and rescued a 17-year-old minor. Police confiscated P3.4 million worth of ‘shabu’ from their possession.
Police are working to determine the possible supplier and the cohorts of these arrested suspects.
