CEBU, Philippines — Cebu 1 Electric Cooperative Inc. (CEBECO 1) has already reenergized 96 percent or 145,932 of the total number of households in southern Cebu as of February 28, 2022.

It said in a report that only 6,104 households within its franchise area that are mostly located in mountain barangays are still without power supply.

The delays in the line rehabilitation were caused by right of way concerns, the hauling of poles and the distribution transformers and other necessary materials for the job site, CEBECO 1 General Manager Engr. Getulio Crodua said.

“CEBECO I Linemen and Engineers together with the support of CEBECO III Task forces are now concentrating in the municipalities of Argao, Dumanjug, Barili and Alegria to attain 95% Households energization by weekend in these areas,” Crodua added.

CEBECO 1 is targeting full restoration of power supply in south Cebu localities this March 2022.

Typhoon Odette damaged the electric supply in this part of the province as it toppled more than 6,000 electric poles last Dec. 16, 2021.

CEBECO 1 is serving Carcar City and the municipalities of Dalaguete, Boljoon, Oslob, Santander, Samboan, Moalboal, Ginatilan, Alcoy, Badian, Alcantara, Ronda, Sibonga, Malabuyoc, Barili, Argao, Dumanjug, and Alegria.
