‘Bukas kotse’ gang strikes

A former regional director of the Department of Education (DepEd) lost his cell phone, P3,000 cash and assorted items to a robber who ransacked his car that was parked along M. Velez Street, corner E. Osmeña Street in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City Friday evening.

Dr. Recaredo Borgonia said he parked his car outside a restaurant where he got down to buy food. Minutes later, he heard his car’s alarm going off, but he found nobody near the vehicle when he went out to have a look.

But when Borgonia boarded his car, he discovered that his iPhone smartphone and wallet where already missing.

P01 Epegemio Remulta of the Guadalupe Police Stationt said Borgonia had told them that his car’s automatic door lock malfunctioned,
He said this may have enabled the robber to easily  open the car There were no signs of  forced entry in Borgonia’s vehicle.
