LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-7 has confirmed that the 257,108 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) have already received an additional P1,000 from the Targeted Cash Transfer (TCT) program for April and May.

Kerwin Macopia, 4Ps information officer of DSWD-7, said that pantawid members have received the cash subsidy last week, on top of their monthly financial subsidy as 4Ps beneficiaries.

The TCT was in line with the signing of the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1 series of 2022 that was implemented by the Duterte administration.

It aims to distribute P500 monthly cash subsidy to poor families to mitigate the effects of increasing prices of fuel.

However, the subsidy would only last up to six months or from April to September this year.

“Ang makadawat niini ang mga 4Ps, apil sad niini ang mga UCT, ug kadtong first to fifthdecile nga mga poor families sa atong listahanan,” Macopia said.

Currently, Macopia said that 4Ps members with existing cash cards were the first to receive the subsidy yet, while they are still waiting for the list of other beneficiaries.

“Mao pa ni atong tukion, tan-awon pa ni nato kay wala pata’y lista nga gipakanaog ani,” he added.

However, 4Ps and UCT beneficiaries are already sure to receive financial assistance from the TCT.    /rcg
