Domestic and international air travellers can’t expect a Halloween treat from the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
Starting Nov. 1, domestic passengers will shell out P220 terminal fee. Up by P20. International travelers will have to dig their pockets deeper as the P550 terminal fee will be P750 by Nov. 1.
MCIAA general manager Nigel Paul Villarete said that the increases to sustain operations of the MCIA, which is now positioned as a major gateway to the world.
Also tomorrow, the GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) will officially take over operations of the MCIA terminal.
In an earlier interview, GMCAC chief executive advisor Andrew Acquaah Harrison assured the riding public they can expect wonderful changes in the existing terminal and a soon-to-rise world class terminal.
Among the first changes would be the staff’s uniforms designed by Cary Santiago.
Harrison said they are expected to start building the new terminal by the first quarter of next year.
It will take three years to complete the new passenger terminal.
