Police check the security cameras installed inside the Talisay City National High School as part of their preparations for the coming in-person classes this Monday, August 22.
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Talisay City police inspected at least 24 schools in the city on Friday, August 19, 2022, three days before face-to-face classes start on Monday, August 22, 2022.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Randy Caballes, chief of Talisay City Police Station, said they visited schools on Friday morning, August 19, 2022, and checked their readiness.
Caballes added that they also talked with the school heads about the necessary assistance that they might need in terms of security.
During his visit to Talisay National High School, his personnel from the station’s Women and Children Protection Desk conducted short lectures on curfew, and child abuse, and encouraged parents to constantly monitor their children so that they won’t be lured into joining gangs.
So far, Caballes said that the principals showed the police their security preparations, such as their exit and entrance points.
Police said there were no problems observed as of this posting.
Caballes added that a composite team of the police, personnel of the City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority, and barangay tanods, were deployed to at least 24 schools in the city, as early as today, to ensure safety inside and outside these institutions.
“Sa gawas, sa entrance lang na sila. Magbutang ta og police assistance desk didto,” Caballes said.
Caballes added that the school personnel also installed security cameras within the vicinity to monitor the activities within the campus.
The security cameras were also the school’s way of monitoring and preventing possible disruption of the peace and order situation in the school.
